Important update (July 19, 2021): from July 26, 2021, travellers, who have been vaccinated and can provide official vaccination documents, also have to present a negative PCR test or antigen test upon entering the country. The same applies to travellers, who have recovered from a prior infection.

The vaccination certificate is valid when 14 days have passed from the second dose (or 14 days from Janssen/Johnson & Johnson dose). Furthermore, the testing of children born after 2005 will stop.


Certificates of vaccination with vaccines already approved by the European Medicines Agency will be accepted. For more details please visit www.covid.is.

Important update on-site (July 25, 2021):

​​​​​​​the general limit of gatherings in Iceland will be 200 persons and social distancing rules will take effect again. Basically, a distance rule of at least 1m applies again. A mask has to be worn indoors and where the 1m distance cannot be maintained. Due to the increasing number of infections, these restrictions will apply for a short period of time.
