After breakfast check out from the hotel. You will be fetched from the hotel and taken to the headquarters where the super cool 4x4 modified vehicles await you. Today your “guided self-driven” expedition begins. The guide and the team will give you a briefing of the vehicles and the exciting program that lies ahead. Now the super unique experience is about to start when we head out of the city. Over the next 3 days, we will explore many areas that are less traveled in a combination with must-see sites. The first stop is Þingvellir National Park and the UNESCO World Heritage site. This is a site of historical, cultural, and geological significance. The park lies in a rift valley that marks the Mid-Atlantic Ridge. This is also the site where Iceland’s parliament was established in 930. We then head for Iceland’s interior, the route selection depends on the conditions on the day. The area we explore is North of Þingvellir and South of Langjökull glacier. The journey continues to the geothermal area at Geysir where we explore hot-springs and see the active Strokkur that erupts up to 20-30 meters into the air every 5-7 minutes. Our final stop of the day is Gullfoss waterfall and from there we´ll drive to our accommodation for the night in South Iceland.

Today we drive further East to Reynisfjara, the black sand beach, and the village Vík. Vík is the southernmost village in Iceland and lies between the glacier Mýrdalsjökull and the North Atlantic Ocean. We continue further East to an area called Mýrdalssandur where we´ll spend the day exploring the area East of the glacier. In the late afternoon we arrive at our accommodation for the night.
