Winter is a special season in Iceland and mother nature will blow you away. This short guided tour gives you an insight to Iceland's amazing nature and cultural life. You will stay overnight 2 nights in a guesthouse in Iceland's capital and 2 nights in South Iceland that is an ideal location for hunting the Northern Lights. This tour is based on budget accommodation but can be upgraded!

You will meet your guide and group in the morning for a short city tour of Reykjavik. We then head out of town to the Reykjanes peninsula where you find hot springs, vast lava fields, bird cliffs, lighthouses and more. We finish of the day with a soak in the famous Blue lagoon before heading to our overnight in cottages in South Iceland where we spend two nights. The guide will inform us about the nature of the Northern ligths before we head out to the cottage surroundings in search of the Northern lights.
Today we explore the South coast of Iceland with its glaciers, waterfalls and volcanoes. We make a stop by the stunning Seljalandsfoss waterfall where you can walk behind the waterfall for a different view! Next up is Skógafoss waterfall, one of the prettiest in Iceland, 60m high. Close by you find the Skogar folk museum. This museum has an outstanding collection of domestic artifacts as well as turf-built houses. In the afternon there is an option glacier walk on Solheimajokull glacier. Please note the glacier hike can only be booked with the guide on day 2. Payment is due with the glacier hike company on day 3 in Icelandic Krona - cash only! If you do not wish to do the glacier walk the tour continues further south where you can stroll on the black lava beach to see the amazing bird cliffs at Reynisfjara near Vík. After dinner there will be a presentation about the Northern Lights. Hopefully the sky will be clear to admire the mesmerizing Northern lights dancing acros the sky.
In the morning, you will get to know the Icelandic horse and its history and special qualities. We will also visit a geothermal greenhouse. We continued to the geothermal area of Geysir were with a variety of hot springs and bubbling mud pools. You will see the geysir Strokkur erupt approx. every 8 minutes. We then continue to Gullfoss "the golden waterfall", a double tiered waterfall that plummits 34 meters into the Hvítá river. The last part of the Golden Circle is Thingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The day ends in the capital for the last night. An optional Northern Lights boat tour can be booked on the spot for the evening, if the weather conditions are favourable.
